My Story
Growing up in Washington, D.C. in the 1980’s and 90’s known at the time, as the murder capital of the world. Many good friends and family members were victims of senseless violence. I was apprehensive about whether I would ever see the age of 17, and therefore never prepared for the potential of outliving my prediction. Later, while deciding to volunteer with the Youth Task Force against Violence, an opportunity was created to talk with students in schools all over the city about making choices and stopping the violence. After serving honorably for 10 years in the U.S. Army as a Calvary Scout, I married and had 3 beautiful children; I am employed by the Prince George’s County Police Department as a School Resource Officer. This gave me another opportunity to re-dedicate myself to my original mission of speaking and mentoring youth which now also includes re-connecting to a heritage that has never been told.
